Android auto keeps disconnecting Mercedes benz w213

Hi,

Got a question about Android auto. I have Mercedes Benz w213 2018 and very often android auto disconnecting after random time. I always restart the phone but even that do not help. It is not in the car because my wife has Xiaomi and it has never happened to her.

I got Samsung Galaxy s25 and this same problem had even my previous phone Samsung Galaxy s21 FE.

Everything start around updates in 2024.

Do you have any suggestion for solving this issue? Thanks.

Maybe keep the app battery unrestricted under app settings /battery

Kinda a long shot but try enabling developer mode in settings (not android auto dev mode). Set the default usb mode to be transfer files/android auto.

There's a chance your phone keeps swapping to charge only mode.

My theory behind this is a bit ago, an update added a security feature that locks down the usb port, making it default to charge only. It might be somehow false triggering and causing issues

I'm having the same issue using a mmi box for the car. Audio starts stuttering and then just randomly restarts.

It is completely random. Sometimes it holds for hour and sometimes it cannot hold even for a minute or two.

Yup, my just stopped playing music and after second it restarts, but then it restarts over and over again.

Thanks. Considering we have basically the same phone (I have an s25u), I'd usually have experienced the same issue or have a solid fix.

Unfortunately/fortunately, android auto works fine in my car, so I haven't really had the chance to test stuff myself.

My car is also "technically" a 2018 Mercedes but you'd never be able to tell from just looking at it lol.

So if we can figure out a solution or if a solution is possible, it'd help aid others too.

I'm assuming you've tried another usb cable. That's usually the goto first thing to see if it fixes stuff

Yup, I bought a new one and as I said Xiaomi works fine all the time and something happened during the year 2024. 😞

Edit: also my old @S21 Fe had a same problem.

Edit2: Well it didn't help 😞

To answer the its not the car, isn't correct as it depends on the mobile to car to AA execution which is where one or more drop the ball after an update.
