Gallery permissions greyed out

I have a Samsung A14, when I go into my Gallery photos / Stories' / Videos, it wont allow me to download my video so I can share them with families. I click on the three little dots but the option to save the video is not there, even when I click more options its still not there. When I go to the Gallery app / permissions its all greyed out

@Members_cajTPm3: Are you using the stock Gallery app that came preinstalled on the phone? If so, please try heading to Settings > Battery > Background usage limits, and check to see if the Gallery is in the Sleeping or Deep Sleeping apps section. If it is, press and hold on the Gallery > Remove, to see if this gives you access to your permissions in Settings > Apps > Gallery > Permissions.

Hi AndrewL, Yes it is the stock app, I what to the Battery > Background usage limits and it was in the Sleeping section, so, did what you said and removed it, but its made no difference its still the same. On the app, I did clear the cache and data, but again it no change.

@Members_cajTPm3: Are you able to share a screenshot of your Gallery Permissions, to help me understand the issue a bit better?

Also, if you head to the Gallery app > Stories > Select a story > Tap the 3 dots in the top right, is 'Download as video' available as an option?

@Members_cajTPm3: Please be advised that the 'Photos and videos' permission is greyed out as standard, as access to your photos and videos is essential for the Gallery app to function.

If you select 'Remove from favourites' when tapping the 3 dots in your selected Story, does this help at all?

I removed them from favorites, but it doesn't help. Is there a way I can download the same app again to make sure the problems not with my app.

You say the "photos and videos' permission is greyed out as standard, as access to your photos and videos is essential for the Gallery app to function". .....but my wife phone a Samsung A15 the permission is not greyed out ?

I removed them from favorites, but it doesn't help. Is there a way I can download the same app again to make sure the problems not with my app.

It was not grayed out before. I have just done android update and this got grayed out. Only reason I have disabled gallery permissions in the past is because it does ruin photos I take. Now after update I cannot.. this said I wont buy samsung phone never again

Im having exactly the same issue too and samgsung support are really not helping with it
