I tried to check if there's a way to create a routine or automation for this, but I couldn't find anything related to the battery level of a Bluetooth device.

Is there any way to get a notification when my smartwatch battery is low?

I often realize that my smartwatch is almost dead only when I'm about to go out — which is super annoying. I'd love to get a reminder when it's getting low so I can charge it in time.

Any ideas or workarounds? Thanks!

Since most smartwatches don’t natively send low-battery alerts to your phone, try these workarounds:

1. Use a Companion App

Samsung Galaxy Watches:

Open the Galaxy Wearable app, go to Watch settings > Notifications, and enable "Show watch battery on phone" (displays battery % in your phone’s status bar).

For alerts, try third-party apps like "Battery Widget Reborn" (displays battery % as a widget).

Wear OS Watches (Pixel Watch, TicWatch, etc.):

Use apps like "Wear Battery Full Alert" (sends phone notifications at custom battery levels).

2. Automate with Tasker (Advanced)

If your watch broadcasts battery data over Bluetooth:

Set up Tasker to monitor battery logs and trigger a notification when the level drops below a threshold (e.g., 20%).

Requires some setup with Logcat Entry or Bluetooth Event detection.

3. Use IFTTT (For Supported Watches)

Some Garmin/Withings watches work with IFTTT to send email/app alerts when battery is low.

Check if your watch brand supports IFTTT applets for battery alerts.

4. Watch Faces with Alerts

Custom watch faces (like those in Facer or WatchMaker) can show battery % prominently or vibrate when low.

5. Samsung Routines (Basic Reminder)

While Modes & Routines can’t directly check watch battery:

Set a daily time-based reminder (e.g., "Alert me at 9 PM to charge watch").

6. SmartThings (For Samsung Ecosystem)

If your watch appears in SmartThings, check if battery alerts are available.

Quick Fixes

Charge nightly (e.g., during showers) to avoid surprises.

Restart watch/phone if Bluetooth disconnects often.

Which watch model do you have? I can suggest more specific steps!

The "Show watch battery on phone" is not available in the Galaxy Wearable App. Has it been moved since October when this was first posted?
