Had more or less the same issue and a factory reset + cache wipe did the trick. Now battery life is 50-54 hours with mild usage , no gaming.

Since putting on the latest update my phone battery drains from full to 30% in just over half a day just sitting and barely being used - it's ridiculous

I hope a fix comes out soon

Hi @TR2025 Welcome to the Samsung Community 😀

The Battery relearning phase can take up to 14 days and likely an impact in early days but does seem excessive. Did you clear the cache partition after update?

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer , other Device or TV USB, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Another ideas is to Reset Battery stats as shown here.

Type *#9900# (Auto Blocker needs to be turned of ) in Samsung Phone App. scroll until you see batterystats reset, tap on that and restart Device. Whilst I have known this credit to @lminvti @Piper123 and @moiramon who have mentioned this fairly recently.

Some optimisation tips also here https://www.samsung.com/us/support/galaxy-battery/optimization/

You could also double check if the drain is related to any apps by chance. Have you looked in Settings, Battery, View Details to see which apps are using the most battery?

Those with a higher percentage usage you can click on to see if they are consuming the battery life in the background vs using them and should this not be necessary for the app to operate. You can then limit this with the Background Usage Limits option at the bottom of the page.

You can also check if any apps or settings are waking the phone up too frequently using Samsung Goodlock - Nicecatch. With this you can turn on a log to check which apps are waking the screen up most or creating excess audio notifications ect. This enables you to make operating adjustments to their behaviour to help negate this.

Example images are attached. Hope this helps.

I have had my S23 drain like crazy since the recent update, was 58% and switched it off over night it was now 21%.
Adaptive setting made it worse.
They need to fix it
