The One UI 8 update changed the reminders widget.

The update removed:

The colour of the category the reminder was in
The categories (past, today, tomorrow, next 7 days. This helps me know if I've missed a reminder or not.
The time of the reminder
The filter that allowed a choice between all reminders or categorising them

I find it very difficult to differentiate all my med reminders now! I can't tell from the wigit if I've missed the reminder or if it's upcoming.

The different colours helped me differentiate my reminders from work related reminders and helped to highlight that there was something different from the routine that day.

As someone with ADHD and Autism I used these functions as an accessibility tool to reduce cognitive load. It's on my home screen so when I open my phone I can see I've got a reminder not ticked off. Without it I've already started forgetting to take things etc. Luckily my Tab S7FE doesn't receive OS updates so I can show what it used to look like. I understand why some people might like the minimalist look, but don't remove the function for those who like it, give us choice!

I came here to complain because I couldn't find an email, the chat bot is useless and I shouldn't have to download WhatsApp to write a complaint to Samsung.

Most people will probably think this is small, but it presents a major problem for managing my disabilities and chronic illnesses, and I hate how the 1 app that wasn't purpose made but was perfect has made my life less accessible through an update 😔

I have the same problem. What I miss most is the color of category.

use categories all the time and after a new update it is impossible for me to navigate the list.

I find this extremely inconvenient now, too, and I regret updating. I need to know the time and dates for all my reminders. I need to see what I missed! This is actually a big deal for me, and I don't find this issue small.

I just got the update and I'm so upset you wouldn't even believe. I have a LOT of reminders on my list and I used the colors to distinguish between all the different ones, the important ones, etc. This makes me more furious since they have taken away features I enjoyed and used before. I'm forced to install these updates which have always made my experience worse. I don't understand removing features that people rely on and not giving the option to turn them back on. I don't usually comment on these thing but I'm so frustrated with this right now. I'm totally with you here. I hope (but certainly doubt) that they add the option to customise this in the future. In the meantime I'm sure to be looking for a better, third-party app to use.

I have over 20 categories and near 100 reminders across them. I use it as an idea dumping ground and is probably my most productive app as I can segregate the reminders and move them quickly between categories. Seeing the colour of each reminder is critical in understanding what each category is. I now have to open the app and scroll up and down all the time, as I'm not sure which category I'm in.

Why has this been removed :'(

Also the widget now uses a fixed font and zoom and does not respect the grid size of the home screen. So I used to see around 10-15 reminders on half my screen, now I see only 5 and the font is twice the size of every other widget. Again why?

Wow and the filters don't even work, they keep missing some of the reminders. Broken app for sure.

Yes, it's utter BS, why has Samsung dumbed down their devices yet the prices don't reflect the quality. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm getting sick of it
