120Hz not working in S25 Ultra

I got this new phone with one UI 8 update.

Performance is set to standard and no battery saver is enabled. Yet on enabling Adaptive Motion in Display is not switching to 120Hz

How do you know it's not using 120hz? As in, does it just not look 120hz or do you have an app or something that's telling you

I usually know, but to make sure I used developer options to display refresh rate, and did a browser https://www.testufo.com/refreshrate test as well

Thought you might say that. The frame rate on the newer samsung phones is adaptive. It's anywhere from 1hz to 120hz. If nothing is moving on screen, it goes to 1hz. That ufo test website requires you to not scroll for it to give a result, meaning no movement, meaning 1hz or a low number.

A better way is developer options as you mentioned. Turn the frame rate indicator on, then scroll something like twitter or Instagram. You scrolling should make it show 120hz as long as you are scrolling

It's always stuck to 60hz even if I am scrolling, restarted it, tried turning off developer options but it's a constant 60hz or a red "--" line

Have you transferred data via Smart Switch? Because this way also settings from the old phone are transferred.

Red line means 1 or 0, so no movement, power saving.

You don't happen to have display assistant installed do you? If not then forget I mentioned it.

Do you have a screen overlay app running? An app permanently showing something on top of your other apps. Kinda running out of ideas at this point.

Oh, assuming you've set refresh rate to standard, then back to adaptive. Just making sure you tried that

No I didn't use smart switch, scrolling also is not changing the display refresh rate

Try setting the screen to 1440p. It might get it to reload and possibly start working?

1440p didn't work, I don't have any overlay as well

I went full adb and installed GalaxyMaxHzPub

It solved the issue 🥳
