Is Your Samsung Phone Slower After Recent One UI Updates? Let's Discuss Real Solutions

Many Samsung users have reported performance drops, lag, or battery drain after installing recent One updates on mid-range and even flagship phones. I’ve personally noticed slow app openings and background freezing on my device after the last update.

Currently using the S24 Plus OneUi 7. Haven't really noticed any performance drop or battery drain . It's been functioning just as before.

S25U- currently on ui8 beta. Zero performance issues as of now.

I'd suggest making a post with the specifics of what you particularly dislike. The update can't be reverted, but hopefully, you can gain helpful information to better your experience. There are already lots of posts, too, so there may already be answers out there.

I always follow the same process.

1) install new update
2) reboot phone into boot menu and perform a cache reset.
3) go into google play store and update all installed apps. Often there are 20 or more apps needing updating after a new UI update.
4) the same with Galaxy store.
5) use good guardians 'Galaxy App booster'. Allow optimisation.

Over the next day or two I observe the battery usage to ensure no unexpected apps are draining battery quicker than normal.

USUALLY by following these steps keeps the phone software healthy and up to date.

...and if there are any issues then I would backup all my important information for contacts messages and photos etc... usually to google photos and my google account.

I would then do a complete factory reset of the phone with the new UI update.

When performing 'upgrades', then it should be a successful process and ok to use, although it is important to realise that this then is an updated software of oneui6... rather than a complete new installation of the new software.

Often a brand new installation of the new UI software will give a much better experience after the update.

When doing this then I would recommend NOT using smartswitch utility, but to install everything from the beginning again. This can be time consuming to install all apps from the stores again, but may well give a cleaner phone and one that is more optimised. Also any app in-compatibilities that may occur (and the usual reason for slow down and battery drain) will not occur.

Got A54 battery draining fast and also phone defo lagging seems if u have older phone the new update ok for newer models bad for older versions samsung get ur act into gear or u be customers iphone

I have been with Samsung along time im on 6 . 1 and this is the one thing I noticed battery drains Quicker those iv A04sm i love it but I'd rather the A 05smx snapdragon chipset i don't believe hands down ungrateful is what they are, i whish I could afford the S 25 pukka fone Dave London.

Not noticed any extra lag, performance drop or extra battery drain with OneUI 8 beta on my S25 Ultra or my S21 Ultra and Tabs S8 Ultra on OneUI 7 since upgrading. First thing I always do is make sure to update all apps once I upgrade. For the Tab S8 Ultra I actually noticed a significant performance improvement in OneUI 7. I haven't seen any OneUI upgrade do anything to degrade performance or battery since they started using OneUI. If anything I've only ever witnessed performance improvements overall.

I have a samsung a14 and one ui 8. Since i downloaded it, all my games and apps are laggy and crash. I cant even use spotify without it crashing. And the games i have i cant play because they are extremely laggy to the point where its not even worth trying. This is only one thing on the list of why i hate this update, as i think all the ui changes are horrible too.
