Samsung DeX for Windows- Petition to bring it back

After the original post was marked as solved due to some misunderstanding about DeX and DeX for Windows, I open a new topic.

MS Smartphone Link is a disaster in terms of functionality and data protection.
Flow is just a screen mirror. Also no alternative.

I only bought a Samsung phone because of that function and now I wasted almost $1000 after the OneUI7 update. Cannot believe that 😞 If I new before, I didn't update to UI7.

Please bring back DeX for Windows!

I am not sure how you connect up by Dex. I have used Dex regularly with my S25 ultra over the past months without any problems.

I use a basic USB C hub along with a HDMI output to monitor, keyboard and mouse, and a power pass thru. Similar to this device.

Do you use yours in this way ?

In terms of a 'petition'... are you really being serious? Do you really think the multi-national company Samsung will change any goals or decisions they make based upon this ?

I have also used Samsung Flow instead of Dex to connect my phone to my laptop via wireless connection. Down side is that Samsung Flow does not offer Desktop experience, it more like seeing your phone via the laptop.

I think you haven't quite understood what this is all about. It's about DeX for WINDOWS. That was discontinued with One UI 7, which I also think is a shame.

phone33 propably used the term "petition" to get attention and draw attention to the problem.

@Star_girl My phone get super hot with Samsung flow and it drains more battery that it charges with a slow charger. Cannot use it. With DeX I did not have that problem.

I take it is the app resizing ability you're missing or is it the desktop environment? If it's the resizing I know some Android apps can run natively Windows using an Android emulator if this helps that might allow setting larger screen resolutions. I've heard of NoxPlayer and AndY if they are of use.

Ok fair enough. I have not used this method of connectivity. So my question therefore is why is it not possible to use a Dex connection in the way that does still work ? This gives a full desktop experience... possibly better than that of a windows app ?

Because it is much easier to have full control over your phone when you are already sitting on your PC without the need to switch or swap anything. DeX on Windows was just the easiest and most efficient way. All apps and full phone control in just one Windows window.

I have also noticed battery drain and heating up with using Samsung Flow. Not fair though.

There is a Video from TechWithBenefits on YouTube where he explains how Samsung Dex was downgraded with UI7. I haven't tested myself though, I am just purchasing the right cables to try to connect my devices with Samsung Dex, until than, I can't really say much.

It is really a shame that Samsung's discontinuation of PC Dex on UI7. If I knew that years ago, I wouldn't have bought my Fold4! Phone Link and Samsung Flow are in no way to comparing PC Dex. There is no choice for not upgrading to UI7. Samsung, I really wish that you leave us a crippled PC Dex, but not a complete removal of it for the UI7 users.

I agree, I use Dex through my pc at work on a daily basis, and the loss of this feature has persuaded me that my next phone will be a Google Pixel rather than another Samsung.
