Why Samsung?????

The May 2025 UI one update is horrible and the widgets are worse. I bought the Galaxy S24 because I didn't like S25 with gimmicks and decreased features, if I wanted my phone to look like an iPhone and act like an iPhone I would buy an Apple phone..

I am a UX/UI designer and I know for a fact that anything with a curved design is compromising the font size area space. Samsung, if you change the phone designs and widgets designs then let us have the option to decide if we want those changes or keep our old formats, don't make the decision for us. Samsung was all about choices which it was great to have, but sadly now, they are taking that away from us and acting like Apple.

Very disappointed in Samsung and really thinking of going to another android phone provider.

I don't see the comparison between the iPhone and my S25 Ultra. Or indeed my other Samsung phones.

Unlike iOS, with your Samsung you can change and customise it.
App draw you can change
Swipe down gesture you can change. Both in the settings

You can use Samsung Goodlock to customise the look of the phone
Icon packs to change apps etc
Themes

It doesn't have to stay stock if you don't like it

You can add feedback to the relevant section of the members area.

As a UI designer perhaps you should try to get a job with Samsung to work on their next version of OneUI...

Of course everyone is entitled to an opinion. If a few icons changes and minor improvements is enough to encourage someone to change their phone to another manufacturer, then I wish good luck.

I don't think Samsung is very popular at the moment, the ui 7 sucks to many users and people are shouting there heads off over it, but having a rant on here doesn't serve much purpose as Samsung developers don't see these posts on the forum. The only way to hit Samsung is with the profits so the only way is to stop buying they products.

I take it you got the ultra as that's the only one that lost a feature, bluetooth on the s pen. Why did you think the S24 wouldn't get the new UI update. I don't like some of the new icons so I changed them in good lock. I also changed the control panel to the old way. I didn't mind it being separate but kept swiping down on the wrong side. I don't use the now bar much either. Also the app drawer could be better. I like the vertical style but wish it always opened from the start. None of these things would force me to buy another make though.

The way one ui 7 is, and how a lot of people don't like it, was it not down to people who joined the beta versions to send there feedback
I won't be installing oneui7 till oneui6 don't work or oneui7 has been fixed without having to download apps to change things to the way people like

I’m a graphic designer, and I totally get where you’re coming from. The update completely wrecked my home screen, the new clock and calendar widgets look like a bad mock-up. Most people in the comments don’t seem to care, but I wanted you to know you’re not the only one frustrated. I actually switched to Samsung from another brand because I didn’t like their UI… and now Samsung is doing the exact same thing. So disappointing.

its bloody awful. Everything on screen is smaller. The battery life is almost impossible to read with the split colour. Who comes up with this rubbish and how much did Samsung pay them. .. just change for changes sake!

I totally agreee, the widgets are ugly and the whole phone looks like an iphone. I can't even chanhe the color of the widgets to transparent and thry have only the darn light or dark blue not matching with my background color💀 so annoying

As a 60 Yr old (nearly)... It's wrecked my phone and I hate it. How do I close down all my apps at the end of a session? Access settings for WiFi easily? Does matter as I won't find myself back here 🙄

@Cazza25: To close all open apps, simply tap the Recents button in your Navigation bar at the bottom of the screen (3 vertical lines), then select 'Close all'. For quick access to your Wi-Fi settings, swipe from the top of the screen to the bottom, then press and hold on the Wi-Fi icon. I hope this helps.

If that is so, tell us how to stop the massive battery drain that was not there before the update. We all know there are changes with every update, but we don't need BS apps installed we don't want, or a new system that drains the battery twice as fast.
