Unwanted TTS Voice languages

I don't know when it happened, but I definitely know that I bought S24 ultra without TTS voice languages. A few months ago, without my knowledge and permission, Hindu, Russian, Polish, Mexican Spanish, Vietnamese and Thai TTS voice languages were installed on my ultra. And now they are in the system and I can neither disable nor uninstall them. That's the behavior of malicious programs, these languages are completely unnecessary and useless, why is Samsung forcing this nonsense, it should have been an option, not a coercion.

When I want to report unwanted language, Google warns me that the website apps-support-samsung.com is suspicious and that it is not sure that it is from Samsung. Google says that the reasons for suspicion can be the following - the page is private, or it is new, or it is rarely used visits.

Hi there, yes it happened to me as well, you should be able to disable them settings >general management >language packs >edit , choose and uninstall also you can disable auto update in samsung store for these language packs

I believe it's to support their live translation feature.

Maybe those are the most popular or commonly used.

As to why you can't uninstall I'm clueless atm

I can't disable them, I can only uninstall the update, but then it says in the Galaxy Store that 6 applications have an update 😤

Under settings > search for language pack you can select and delete them. Not sure if it uninstalls though.

@Sonora: I'm sorry to hear that you feel this way. The addition of these languages was to improve the available built-in options for the Samsung text-to-speech engine. This is an accessibility feature (part of the TalkBack settings) and is not intended to be intrusive in any way.

Agian. Not sure if it's the inbuilt one or the ones you have downloaded.

But the fact is that these languages were installed without my knowledge. If something already had to be installed, then why wasn't it German, French, Spanish, Italian - these are the most commonly used languages in Europe, what would Hindi, Vietnamese or Mexican Spanish do for me?

Probably would depend on where your phone was made.

I know for a fact here in the UK if you buy a phone from say Argos. Their phones are made in Vietnam, Thailand etc.
And Samsung being a global company. I guess they pick and choose which languages are preinstalled.

I don't think it's a big deal unless people are given option to uninstall stuff they don't won't.

But then again you will get a warning that some aspects of your phone may not work properly if its integrated into the OS.

Look what happened to the IPhone 16 in Europe . No AI on release with the phone due to EU regulations.

Global companies have to deal a lot with country regulations which can affect user experiences as well. For good or for worse.

Or most spoken languages in that region in uk it makes sense for all of these language packs to be installed and us as well i think it's by the most spoken languages who will go first or I might be completely wrong also I think it's for offline translation as well

Even offline it's totally useless for me, because Samsung don't have my language. I prefer to use Google translate directly, rather than Samsung's Interpreter , Interpreter is useless to me

Completely agree on regulations part, they have to deal with loads of stuff just to make all the globe happy, and what happened to iphone 16 is jokes because people are returning 16 models back because of the promised features that they don't have until later this year or early next year.
