Call Record Updates Problem

If you enable call record on S25 Ultra with no audio notification, change CSC code to EGY, THL or similar, you risk to don't get software updates and it is not recommended!

I would strongly recommend not changing the CSC of your phone, and not attempting this bad advice.

The feature has been enabled for the first time in the UK. If you have a problem with people knowing that you are recording the call, then perhaps you are the type of person that should NOT be using it in the first place.

If this new feature is 'abused' then it is likely it will then get removed. This is a law abiding feature in the UK to notify the user of their being recorded and is required by GDPR regulations.

Additionally if you attempt to change the CSC of your phone then you may not get any new software updates as the phone is 'out of region'.

I would also STRONGLY recommend members not to do this.

Recording calls in itself is not illegal but there are limits on what they can be used for if the other person isn't aware.

Further, I would not be happy if my friends were recording calls without telling me. Let's just say they wouldn't be friends for long.

Finally, if you are recording calls, depending on the reason you may need to register with the ICO as a Data Controller and that brings about a whole new ball game which can get people into trouble.

This is exactly why the functionality was removed in the first place and if users can't use functions for the purposes they were provided for then expect the functionality to be removed.

I changed the csc from ACR to THL, recieved 3 security updates on my s24 ultra without any issues.
The THL csc has the recording feature.
THL also recieves updates faster than the orginal csc.
THL gets updates as fast as EUX does.

In my case, i did changed the CSC to THL inorder to get updates faster not for the recording feature.

So by changing your phone CSC to 'Thailand' then the phone and network believes you have a Thailand phone.

Phones generally do not receive their OTA (over-the-air) updates unless they are being used in the region they are intended.

Apart from the fact that by reprogramming your phone with a different CSC code will likely invalidate your phone warranty and perhaps leave you susceptible.

And all for what ? To disable the call recording feature voice message when you start to record a phone call.

This has been implemented in the UK but when it is activated a voice tells the other person on the call that you are recording.

Why are you concerned with this ? Do you want to secretively recording people during a call ?

Good luck to you if you are happy to make all these compromises to the phone.

I stand by my statement. THIS IS VERY BAD ADVICE TO FOLLOW.

First of all, i dont care about samsung warrenty or call recording feature.
Caz i dont use both of them, i did changed csc to THL inorder to recieve the long waiting updates to be recieved faster 😂.
And beleieve me, network reception is far better than stock one.

I think the international version can run many csc's.
I have been doing this from s8 lineup.
I have given up rooting and doing custom os after samsung improved the ui.

Also brother, i have lost my efs data ( contains imei ) during a custom rom installation, but i have forcefully written it with a z box or some stuff available at that time.

Of course I know there is a community of 'modders' that like to dabble.

This is not what this community forum is about. We cannot recommend the actions of modifying phones, rooting, changing firmware or likewise.

Feel free to do whatever you like with your own phone, but it is bad advice for the large majority of the community and we will not promote, endorse, or suggest it is a good idea to modify a phone with Odin or any other method.

Its upto the user, when you have seen the bad extremes or outcomes before you could manage it.
Otherwise i reccomend not to go any further.

Of course it's not right to record calls, but if you look at Youtube videos, you'll notice that with the new One UI 7 system there is that sound notification that some people didn't like.

Don't prefer that change CSC because your warranty is no longer valid.
