Sending photos to WhatsApp

This is what people receive when I send them a photo from my camera or gallery on my s24 ultra. It's just started to do this for no apparent reason. Can anyone help??1

You may want to reach out to WhatsApp?

It doesn't seem like it recognise the file format, what did you take photo on?

Apologise I should have been more precise. What I meant was did you use any particular camera app etc... Or just regular camera app?

I think there was a similar issue a few years ago, I think it was a whatsapp application issue

Hi there, it seems to be WhatsApp issue it's across different brand androids as well some of my friends have same issue, all they did is take a screenshot of the picture and send it that way, also like mentioned above it doesn't seem the file format isn't recognised and it shows as .BIN (what WhatsApp told was free up phone storage space and check like app or what format picture was taken on and apparently "they working on fixing the issue ")

Hi .

Long shot . Maybe turn OFF heic format under camera settings > advanced settings.

Some older phones may not support the format.

Maybe stick to jpeg

In whatsapp, I used to write a message and then attach a photo. Now, I have to add the photo first and then add a message. This is SO annoying. Does anyone have a reason for the change or a fix to get the old option back? Jane

@Jago101: While it might not be your preferred approach, you do have the option of writing a message, sending it, then attaching a photo below to accompany the message. Alternatively, tap the paperclip symbol, attach a photo via your Gallery, then add a caption.
