Ok, I have a strange one. Over the past few days, Samsung Calendar no longer has a "Birthday" category under the Google account entry. I still have Calendar, Holidays in United States, and 2 other Family member calendars that they share with me. The Birthday choice vanished! The birthday choice still remains on the Google Calendar (Web), and it's also still there on the Google Calendar App on my phone (I use this for trouble-shooting purposes - but prefer Samsung Calendar).

Here's the odd thing. I have always had the Birthday events show up in red on my calendar, and I could easily toggle them on our off by using the radial button that is no longer there. However, even though the category listing has vanished, the birthdays are still listed on Samsung calendar but not in red. They are listed in the same color as my primary color events. Google Calendar (app on the phone) is still working as it should, that being the birthdays are red and I can turn them on/off to make them visible on my calendar at will.

It seems like there is some type of corruption of some sort. I have force stopped Samsung Calendar, cleared cache, cleared data, uninstall updates, etc., but that's didn't do anything.

Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem. And the new birthday events can actually be deleted. I have a couple of contacts that have their birthdays correctly stored but they do not appear anymore in the Samsung calendar. If uninstalling updates did not help it must be that Google changed the internal calendar code to access birthdays, and Samsung has not yet updated the calendar app to read the birthdays.

I was using "GO Contact Sync Mod" to synch google to Outlook and now it seems to complain about the birthday events, so that confirms that Google changed something in their code.

I think you're exactly right. I use eM Client on my PC and noticed that the birthday's are missing on that calendar as well. Do you know of a way to report the issue directly to Samsung?

Has Go Contact Sync Mod been reliable for you? I looked at that app a while back to sync my contacts and calendar with Outlook but never tried it.

Yes, I've been using it for years, but only to sync from Google to Outlook (I do not want to risk the other way around).
I am not sure how to report the problem to Samsung, they are a big organisation and I have never been lucky reporting bugs to them. I think we might need to wait until they realise themselves.

See my last reply from 3 weeks ago. The issue isn't with Samsung Calendar. I loaded Mozilla Thundrbird and eM Client and both of them have the same exact issue where the birthday events are no longer visible. Google has changed something to prevent 3rd party apps from displaying the birthdays. I don't know if was intentional or not, but the problem is with them. Feel free to open a ticket with them. I tried.

It seems that Google caused the problem changing the API code and now we have to wait until Samsung fixes it in their apps.

"There has been a change in the way Google labels birthdays at the coding level and the 3rd party apps have not taken this into account."
https://support.google.com/calendar/thread/312079818/birthdays-suddenly-showing-up-in-subscribed-google-calendars?hl=en

Also, read this:
https://developers.google.com/calendar/docs/release-notes#November_19_2024
