When connected to my car's head unit via android auto the equalizer bars for the 63 and 125 hz frequencies are greyed out which affects the listening experience, making the music sound thin. This happens only in AA whether connected via USB or wireless, happens with various cars (BMW, Volvo and Toyota tested so far) but does not happen when connected via Bluetooth (though then I do not get the benefits of AA like maps, message dictation, etc).

I understand that these lower frequencies don't work well with the phone's built in speakers but shouldn't the system software recognize when AA is engaged? Who listens to music or takes calls through phone speakers if their car has AA?

Have tried third party EQ apps like wavelet but they only work with Bluetooth, not AA. Is there some sort of work around that will trick the system out of thinking it is playing sound through the phone and realize it can allow the full spectrum to be used when running AA?

Hello there,
For the bluetooth connection, when the Bluetooth is on go to the list of the paired or connected devices, choose the one you are dealing with by tapping on the sprocket next to its name, make sure you activate the audio and call options. This might help.
As for the usb connection, I'm not sure if such settings exist for connected devices, but if it does them make sure you activate the audio and call options

Hope Samsung will restore the low frequencies on S24 ultra. Users should have the choice to turn it Off or On. It is frustrating when listening to music in Android Auto with a very thin sound signature. Since the source has no low freq's, it affect the sound signature even if the bass of the car stereo's bumped up.

Is there anyway we can bring this to the attention of Samsung or Google? It is unacceptable that we cannot use change these EQ frequencies using AA.

I've called Samsung and they clearly have no idea this is even an issue. Forced me to master reset my phone and let them log into it remotely. Couldn't figure out what I was talikg about even after seeing it first hand. Tried to send me to ifixit as if it's a hardware issue. Samsung does not care, I doubt it gets fixed.

I applied the Balance setting on my S24 Ultra's EQ. It produced a thicker sound signature compared to other settings, even with the Bass Boost EQ setting. However, the bass still feels weaker when compared to audio from Bluetooth or even with music files played via USB.
It's mind-boggling why Samsung chose to disable low frequencies in S24 Ultra with Android Auto, yet they remain active when using Bluetooth. It’s frustrating to lose that depth and impact in the sound, especially considering the S24 Ultra is more than capable of delivering it—it’s a flagship phone, after all.
