Hello, thank you for your thorough reply and yes I can see how that works.

In the interim, I had a look for other potential solutions and found one that works up to a point (but works well). I found an app on the Play Store called Buzzkill which allows all sorts of methods of handling notifications.

In my case I installed it on the devices where I did not want an audible notification FOR THE SAMSUNG ACCOUNT APP (meaning my wife / daughter and my tablet), configured the solution in the app (to mute notifications containing the word "Sign" (short for Sign-in) and selected mute. I then signed in again on my S23.

I got the full suite of notifications and sounds (which is fine for me). The other devices received the notifications but (importantly) did not make any sound. The notifications are there but muted which is an almost perfect solution - in fact it might be the perfect solution.

There are various other "action" options in the app including auto acknowledgement or simply erase but I haven't tried them as yet.

The app does cost some cash (£3.99 here in the UK which I would guess is around $5) but it is a solid, workable solution to an apparently otherwise insoluble problem.

Thanks again, Frank

Hello, I tried to submit a question but the website locked me out.

Problem - I have 4 devices registered to me Samsung Account (mine / my wife / my daughter / my tablet) and EVERY time I log in to the website notifications are received by each of the 4 devices that someone is logging in and then a confirmation that someone has logged in.

My wife got so fed up with this that she insisted on me removing the Samsung account from her phone.

I spent 20 minutes today chatting with tech support to try to find a way to reduce number of notifications like this but no real help other than "turn off auto-sync" which then stops ALL apps syncing (Google for calendar etc.)

I have tried the methods that I can find via the internet but nothing appears to allow me to turn off notifications even by "type" so I am reaching out to the community for any ideas / suggestions.

Thanksm Frank

Literally in the last 5 minutes, a response fromSamsung Tech Support team - Log out of the account on any device that does not want notifications to arrive. GREAT answer - surely this defeats the idea of having the app installed (at least for us when wanting to use the Find my Phone feature.) Not veryimpressed with Samsung on that one. Frank

Hi.

I have this issue on my S24 ultra and the zflip6 I am trialling.

Although I haven't sorted an answer I have a workaround.

1. My main phone the S24 ultra as all the apps installed .
The zflip6 I only installed the bare minimum.

2. For notifications. You can just mute the notifications sound on the devices so you don't get the annoying notifications sound on all of them except the one you want.
( you will still get notifications)

3. Once I have checked notifications on one device I just swipe away the others from the other devices.

Now for your question.

1. You could have the wife and daughter have their own Samsung accounts .

2. Logging into a website will possibly trigger a security warning unless you deem the device as safe for your OWN security as once that's compromised all hell will break loose.

3. They could still run their devices without Samsung account as well. But then you loose privileges which come with it.

The whole idea of the sync is you can jump from one device to another seamlessly

So best consider them having their own Samsung accounts. And or even own Google accounts for that matter.

Free them 😊

Hi.

Just a heads up that. To mute sound you don't need a third party app you can just expand the volume by pressing the three dots and sliding the notifications sound to zero or minimal

Hello again, once again, thanks for the feedback.

I think I may not understand your suggestion about rolling the Notification volume back to zero. Please bear with me:

If I do as you suggested, doesn't this reduce the notification volume for EVERY app on the device?

I wanted to do something at an individual app level because I (on my phone with my installed apps) I still want to receive and hear notifications arrive from other apps e.g. banking or SMS messages etc. My wife and daughter (with their phones) want their apps to notify them but they were getting really "hacked off" when I was signing into the Samsung account and they received 2 noisy notifications each time, one for "are you signing in" and one for "someone just signed in". Not a happy family with 2 unhappy ladies in the household!!

If I have misunderstood then apologies.

Thanks again, Frank
