Video player disappering

Hi everyone,

I upgraded to S24 Plus yesterday and could not find the video player app despite the Galaxy store saying it is installed. Got in touch with Tech Support since there was no answer about this and I saw a lot of people mentioning the same problem.

It would have been nice if they actually explained that this was done. The only way to get it fixed is to report it as an error to give them direct feedback so the app developers can change it. The screenshot has details on how to do the error reports since it seems that none of the complaints in the galaxy store have been acted upon so it is no longer an ongoing complaint from their customers.

Not sure of the logic or reasoning, but the video app exists on 6.1 you just can't access, unless you goto gallery, select a video, then top right click the options and select open in video player.

So I guess an embedded option now, not standalone.

The actual app was discontinued and is built into gallery

You were notified a few years ago in the members notice section about the Video player would not be updated in future so if you uninstalled the app then you'll not be able to reinstall it. You can still play videos in the Gallery app or though my Files.
