Accidentally merged two wrong people in samsung gallery

I was putting the contacts to people from my gallery and I accidentally merged two wrong people as one. Now they appear as one and it won't let me un merge them

It's worth mentioning that, as far as I know, you can't manually tag people in photos. You can only id them as the faces tagged by the Ai

Any solutions?

Can you tell us exactly how you managed to combine anybody from your contacts list using the gallery? Contacts go in your contacts list, pictures go in your gallery. How?

Maybe you're mixed up and you mean you were assigning a picture to one or more of your contacts and merged in error. If so then you can 'unlink' them

Tap on the newly created merged entry in your contacts list. Tap storage locations. Tap Unlink all

The contact list is fine, I meant to say that two people are merged in the samsung gallery search feature.

Do you mean to delete them from the gallery? There's no way to do that

And I believe deleting them from the contacts list won't do much good since the gallery app has already associated the two faces together

Can't you just unmerge them by clicking on one of the contacts and go merge and unticking the one you just merger?
I'm sure it's doable.

Please see earlier answers. They aren't merged in the contact list, but in the samsung gallery "people". They now appear as one. There is no way to edit the person other than change the name. The face detection still identifies the wrong person with the one it merged it

Go to the merge section again and see if you have option to untick

There is no such option. Once two people are merged, the merged one dissappears completely

I found this settings under 'gallery labs' which you should be able to activate after tapping on the about gallery version no multiple times.

Not sure if it will help your cause.
Read it thoroughly before doing it.

It would help ALOT if you'd give us a step by step process for how you merged them in the first place. It's not something I've done before, hence the confusion. If you tell us how you did it, we could try and replicate it and maybe find a solution to reverse it.

I had discovered the people feature in the search tab and i decided to take the time and add the names to the faces

. As a couple of faces were actually just one person which the Ai tagged as different people, I decided to merge and correct it.

for example here the two red ones might be the same person from different angles or years so the Ai thinks they are two different people.

When I went to merge one contact with its duplicate, I simply clicked on the wrong person(a red with blue instead of red with red for. Example ) and confirmed without realizing

Apparently enabling gallery labs by tapping several times on galaxy version number in about gallery worked.

After enabling galaxy labs, open galaxy labs, scroll down to the option called clear person information

You will lose all customization and the person data reverts to state zero.

You do have the option to "Remove from results" but when you do this you can't tag it back to the person it was before... or at least I haven't found a way to manually tag people yet.

Hey, can you figure out how to do this on one ui 7? Samsung seems clueless and after upgrading my phone only 1 person is being recognized (my wife) i want to clear and have it redo all the face data in hopes it sees the other ones. Thanks!
