Google assistant not working S24 Ultra

Bought a new S24Ultra. Google Assistant worked but then did an update and now when you say Hey Google the Google search page opens and that's all.

Everything seems to be activated, permissions seems all good, language selected.

If you open the physical app then it works but not if you say Hey Google it automatically opens Google Discovery Page.

Any advice?

Settings>Google >all services>settings for Google apps>search,assistant and voice>Google assistant> hey Google & voice match. Ensure Hey Google is toggled on

I have had the same issues. Was working fine pre the latest update.
I have removed and then "retrained" the voice match model but it no longer wakes up when I say "Ok (/) Hey Google"..please advise.

I have the exact same problem on my fold 5. I tried everything, but no matter what I try, I simply can't get the notifications turned on for the google assistant. The option stays grayed out. This is really frustrating when you use google assistant to operate your smart home. Please can someone help.

Same for me. Just bought the S24U and cannot turn the Hey Google feature on. When I try to toggle it on, it takes me through a couple of "I agree" pages, then makes me re-record phrases although the model I trained on the same account in my previous phone and the Google nest at home, then it a message "Something has gone wrong" message appears and the button stays off. Any solution would be appreciated.

I have exactly the same issue. S24U here and then the device says: "Something has gone wrong".

For an Android phone that has been out for some months now, not to have one of the most basic Android features as Google Assistant voice activation working is so frustrating. Not even an aknowledgement of the issue? Funny thing is, Bixby seems to work, and you can't change the button press for Google Assistant, only Bixby. Is this issue somehow deliberate?

Try the following. Go to phone settings > apps/app manager > default app > make sure your digital assistant app is set as Google and not Bixby.

Make sure your device language is supported by the list of languages supported by Google Assistant. Preverably llthe language setting on both the device and Google must be the same(including region).

Same problem for me on my S24 Ultra.

Being asked to retrain voice match but only to get message"something went wrong" and hey google not working.

I have the same issue with my S24, I tried everything, matched the language both in voice assistant and default app settings in the phone config, retrained the voice model, but the issue still happens. Whenever I tried to use the voice assistant, a "something goes wrong" message appeared.

I have no idea why this helped me. I went into settings/apps/samsung apps settings/Bixby voice. I granted it the permissions it wanted. I left it turned off. My google assistant started working.

I had the same issue after setting up my new S24 Ultra. I had to go into settings and once I unchecked "Remove permissions if app is unused" then it worked. I was experimenting with Bixby and hadn't used google assistant in a bit, so it removed google assistant permissions. I went into settings, apps. them searched google and checked both google and google one.

It happened when I switched Gemini on. Now I switched back to Google assistant and it works fine.

Well, the digital default app only has none, bixby, and none. Seem like Google Assistant is no longer supported on s24 ultra... what a tragedy 🫣

Ensure the Google app (Play Store) is enabled & updated.
