Apps are greyed out

I've just done the latest big update and now most of my apps are greyed out. I can use them, but can't find them easily like WhatsApp icon is grey, Google and all Google apps are grey, all Samsung apps are grey, all phone apps grey like the camera and gallery. Please help as I can't find anything easily

Go into settings > wallpaper and style > colour pallette. It will be the apply colour pallette to icons. Turn it off. For some reason it doesn't apply to certain app icons.

Mine did this without warning today. Thank you for the solution, I hadn't realised I could turn that off altogether!
