No WhatsApp pop-up notifications

I'm wondering if anybody else's WhatsApp has stopped showing pop-up/ bubble notifications..

When I go to settings on what's app it says that it's no longer supported on your phones android version.

I'm finding it very annoying because it's my main app for messaging and so on. The only way I can see is there's any messages, is by loading the app all the time.

I'm on the latest updates from Samsung and WhatsApp for the Samsung S21.

Have you tried clearing the app cache or reinstalled WhatsApp?

Hi yes, I've tried that they were working as normal until about Tuesday or Wednesday.

Yeah I thought it maybe something like that.
Wife's iPhone seems to be fine though. May e it's just something they're doing to Android phones.🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi there, @ScouseBiggy11. That's odd. Were you getting the WhatsApp notifications on your S21 just prior to updating the app?

Which changes (if any) did you make to your phone or the app before this issue cropped up?

I was getting notifications up until about Tuesday or Wednesday roughly. Only thing I have done is the device update.
I then went on using my phone as usual and I hadn't noticed anything until I accidentally pressed WhatsApp, instead of my football scores app and there was a few conversations with messages that I wasn't aware that I had.
I checked to see if there was any other update from Samsung and there wasn't. My WhatsApp is up-to-date as well.
When I checky WhatsApp settings, it says that pop up bubble are no longer supported on your version of Android.

After I click learn more, it takes me to this page and here it says above android 9 is supported. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ah, yes, I see what you mean, @ScouseBiggy11. If you hover over the greyed out Popup notifications options (illustrated in your screenshot), and click "Learn more", it will take you to a WhatsApp FAQ answer.

This gives various suggestions about customising your notifications but, oddly, doesn't seem to explain why the popup notifications aren't available.

I've got the Samsung s23 and I've got the same problem (Pop up notifications for WhatsApp are no longer available for this version of Android) and it's bloody Annoying.

I'm also having same issues with S23 ultra. when my screen is locked, I don't get notifications when calls are coming in except when my screen is unlock and on WhatsApp. I initially thought it was the phone but obviously now but has to do with WhatsApp.
