GPS software update

Hi everyone, I've just received a software update for my old faithful galaxy s7 regarding 'gps' . Has anyone else received this update? Seems a bit weird as Samsung said they stopped supporting the galaxy s7 a while back. Any info would be appreciated, thankyou .

@bibbin hello, they are receiving the same update of about 63 Mb, galaxy S 8 devices, which are also discontinued, most of them.

Yes, I got the same update message last week but wanted to confirm it before running it. Searched for it online and while it seems to have caused some confusion since the update is for years-old phones, it's legit. Strange, but legit. Just remember to back-up your phone and read the caution about your phone not being functional whatsoever during the update (including emergency calls).

Thankyou @Ventor, nice to know my trusty s7 is still getting life support, and it's still the best samsung phone I own. I can't bring myself to resign it to the kitchen drawer 😁
