Data usage

I have additional charges for data usage while roaming despite having roaming switched off on my S21Ultra. Supplier suggests that apps running in background try to connect to Internet. Does this sound correct? If so, is it OK to switch off background running for all apps or are there some that must run in background?

@Simon-Jersey: Some web based apps will run in the background while your Mobile Data is active, which can result in unforeseen usage. What I'd suggest is heading to Settings > Connections > Data usage > Data saver, and toggling this option on, as this will prevent apps from using data in the background. You can also 'Allow' certain apps to use background data while this feature is active. I hope this helps.
