Green line on WhatsApp Video shares

Hi folks,

I got the Android 12 update yesterday.. updated fine (I have cleared cache too).

This morning I sent a video from my using WhatsApp and notice a green line at the left side of the screen.

The video is absolutely fine and plays as it should on the phone.

Has anyone else had this issue and any way to resolve it?

Please advise

Try wiping the cache partition on the phone and that should resolve the issue. To do this, just search 'how to wipe cache partition (phone name)' and you should find what you are looking for 🙂. Hope this helps! 😎

Wiping the cache has not solved the problem on my S21 Ultra

Try to backup your data, then factory reset your phone; are you still experiencing this problem? 🤔

Looks like I might have to do that.. its a nightmare having to register all the banking apps again

What about clearing the cache of the WhatsApp app, have you tried that? Just go to Settings > Apps > Select the 'Sort by' icon next to 'Your apps' > Select the switch next to 'Show system apps' > OK > WhatsApp > Storage > Clear cache.

Ah okay! If you take another video on WhatsApp does that one have a green line on it too?

I suspect its a bug with WhatsApp instead of Android 12 (may be)

1- if you attached a video from the Camera gallery, when it's sent a green line is shown on the left hand side of the screen

2- when a video is sent using WhatsApp camera option, it is sent as expected.. no green line

Nothing fixes it, it must be a bug in the new update it worse depending on what resolution you recorded the video, Goe from a green line down left side in portrait or a line along the bottom in landscape or totally corrupt

It's a joke isn't it.. alot of the other apps aren't working. Guess the app developers don't care and waif after the software is released and then make thier apps compatible

Same issue with S21. All the videos I am sending on Whatsapp have a green line on the side since the last update.
