steps not being counted

i select walk on the samsung health app. I put phone in wheelchair and walk and less steps get counted, yet if phone is in my trousers or jacket pockets, more steps seem to be counted.. is there anyway around this problem of not enough steps brings recorded if phone is in a different place on the same journey ? in turn it counts less calories too....

also would the samsung watch help ? it's actually gone in for repair at then moment.

Yes the phone only counts steps when in pocket, if you had your watch on it wouldn't matter where your phone is. Also it must be said that is a monumental amount of notifications you have in your status bar 🤣

Okay, when I have the watch on, if I am holding a wheelchair, will it pick up the steps via heartbeat or am I supposed to be swinging my arms as I walk. It could be possible, that the phone knows where I am going distance wise and the watch will be reading my heartbeats...

The health app is quite new to me

Yehaa, that notifications bar is always full, plus I need another one but not sure if an app exists to tell you the weather for the next day...
