From day 1 I have recieved constant messages that my phone storage is full and I can no longer recieve emails even though I have deleted huge amounts of photos videos and emails. The only option offered; buy more storage space. I didn't realise until after I'd bought it that Samsung had decided not to include sd card storage so it seems that Samsung have deliberately created a problem that never previously existed simply for profit. There's a surprise. Will never buy another Samsung product again.

Just to let you know, this has absolutely nothing to do with your phone. Your Gmail account has reached its storage limit—you either need to delete emails or pay Google for extra cloud services. I repeat, this has NOTHING to do with your phone/samsung, nor anything besides Gmail/Google. Deleting phone storage would have made zero difference. I can also guarentee you have plenty of internal storage left- open device care- click on storage- as again, this is nothing to do with your phone- this is your gmail account. Gmail does not use your phone's internal storage to store emails

Even if you could install an SD card for storage, it wouldn't have made a difference. This isn't internal storage; this is Google's Gmail cloud. Meaning, regardless of the device—laptop, phone, tablet, or even a web browser on a fridge—this issue would occur because you've hit the maximum amount of cloud storage for Gmail. So even if you "never buy a Samsung product again," you'll run into this exact issue regardless of the device you're using. Your phone is fine, and it is not defective—user misunderstanding.

*In terms of SD slots, they are being removed from newer Samsung phones (most phones in 2025, too). They are simply falling out of favor- cant keep up with the speeds of even the cheapest a series devices. It's always important to do research before spending money.

To re-iterate @johnz237 extensive answer... your issue is nothing with Samsung hardware or phone. You are simply on the free 15GB data plan with google drive.

You want to stop the messages and increase your cloud storage ? Then subscribe with google to their next one up... 200GB storage for a few pound a month.

Alternative... stop the synchronising your photos and gallery with your google account, and reduce your photos on the google account.

Note that the easiest way to know where your storage limits are currently, to clean up your google space, and to perhaps consider paying for more, is within your Google One app.

This should be amongst your installed google files, or if not then install it from play store.

From here, you can see what files are using up your space, and make some actions to clean up your google account. You can also turn on and off the backup synchronisation.

This sounds (as others have mentioned) like you have a Gmail account.

If this is the case, this would have happened with ANY AND EVERY android device you bought or own regardless of whether it was from Samsung or any other Android manufacturer.

Google give 15gb free storage across Gmail, photos and backup etc. Once that is used up, you either have to delete things from your Google services or pay for additional cloud storage.

100gb is £15.99 a year
200gb is £24.99 a year

Payable to Google - not Samsung

This post is hilarious, I hate this phone too, I keep getting notifications from my bank saying I am in my overdraft and when I look at my bank balance it's always shows negative balance

Samsung sort me out please? I take cash, cheques and all major credit cards 😂😂😂

The easiest way to solve the issue with Google Drive if you don't want to upgrade your storage plan is to turn the backup of for photos and videos. You'll then need to delete some of the photos and videos through Google photos, as deleting them on your phone will make no difference, as that doesn't remove them from your Google drive.
