Phone calls. Can hear them, but say my side is bad

When people call me I can hear them fine but they can't hear me very well and cuts in and out. I've tried pretty much everything. My signal seems fine, 😑 researched it and wondered if any one has had any success?

Try doing a voice recording using the Samsung Voice recorder app

Great. That rules out your devices microphone then. However, I recommend you to run the microphone diagnostic in your Samsung members app, just to be sure.

To rule out any 3rd party apps or customisations that might be causing your issues, please boot to Safe Mode.

To get to Safe Mode - Long press Power button, long press Power off icon, tap Safe mode icon. (When booted into Safe mode, you may need to turn off flight mode as it sometimes enables itself) Take a call and see if your issue has gone. If so, then you know it's one of your 3rd party apps or customisations that were the culprit. It's then up to you to determine which one by a process of elimination.

If that doesn't help, try turning off wifi calling if you have it.

Finally, try a hard reset

With the phone powered up, hold Volume down button and Power button simultaneously for 10 seconds. The screen will go off. Continue to hold buttons until the phone vibrates and the Samsung logo appears. Release buttons. The phone will reboot. Once done, please check if the issue is resolved.

If still not resolved then reach out to your network provider and ask them to check for any issues at their end.

I am at a loss, I did the safe mode and called my friend and got him to call me in safe mode and out of safe mode and all was fine. My wife when she calls me says I sound like a robot, but she could hear me fine on my old phone. Could it be an issue with her phone? but then why was it ok with my old phone. very strange

If it works in Safe mode, then for sure, that would point to a 3rd party app or customisation.

But hang on... you now say it worked okay when your friend called you OUT of safe mode. What about other people then? (not counting your wife). How are calls with them?

Is this then just confined to your spouses calls? If so, then yes, that would point to a problem with her handset. But, as you say, your old device works fine. Does this happen if she calls you when right beside you? Did you speak to your network provider?

I'm waiting on someone else to call me now to check if that also works. I'm also going to get her to call me when she gets home. We will see and will update 👍

Well 2 people called me and all was fine but not when my wife called. It's bizarre because the connection was fine with her when using my old phone. Her phone is fine when she calls others. I can hear her but I sound like a robot, at least I know others can call me.
