A little over a month ago, I downloaded an update that killed my phone's ability to connect to Wifi. The phone will see the available WiFi connections and then turn back off quickly, on its own. Sometimes the phone automatically powers off as well. I have two ISPs and it happens with both. It also happens at multiple places, so it is not just my ISPs. I have 3 other phones that are NOT A53s and none have this issue. It is all very weird.

I've read a few other posts in various online forums about this happening to other people, but of course my chat with Samsung was less than helpful. I had already tried all the traditional fixes before contacting tech support, but I jumped through their hoops anyway, including doing a factory reset on my phone. Out of all the fixes they suggested, that was the one I had the least fath in, and it turns out I was correct. Still no help from Samsung and probably little hope to get an update to fix the issue. Very frustrating!

#GalaxyA53

#nowifi

#customerservicesucks

@matko198312: Please try heading to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Settings > Reset settings. Please note that this will remove any connections that you have previously established with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices.

Following this step, head back to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > On > Choose your router from the list of Available devices, and fill in the required fields to complete the connection.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi @matko198312 This is not customer service though we can advise. complete the Troubleshooting already mentioned . Thereafter go to Settings - Connections - Wi-Fi - Tap the cog next to your router, under view More select the MAC Address Type and set this to Phone MAC. If the issue persists, I would suggest pressing the Volume Down and Power buttons together for around 10 seconds until the phone restarts, the reason being that this will refresh the software and address any issues that might be causing problems. An idea also to reboot the router if still issues.

You could try Safe Mode and keep it in this Mode for at least 2 hours, https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ if the issue is not present in Safe Mode would pinpoint recent third party apps which have been installed.

However if still problems advisable to send an Error Report or contact Support. https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/ To send an Error Report via Samsung Members Go to Support-Send FeedbackNetworking-Wifi. Describe the issue and ensure that systems logs are attached (option should be ticked). May be quicker though via Support-Remote Management if agreeable.

The router doesn't show up for me to change Mac address.... nothing shows up at this point other than searching and eventually the WiFi toggle will turn off on it's own.

Latest software updates would not install using just mobile data. I have it set to download using mobile data OR Wi-Fi but it would never download and install. Mobile provider verified they don't block large software downloads when using OTA. I finally had to connect phone to PC to force latest updates, which makes wipe cache partition disappear from the menu when using power and volume menu. 🤬

Currently in safe mode and will leave it that way for the next few hours, but I'm not hopeful.

I really wish Samsung would not try to fix something that isn't broken and concentrate on what needs to be fixed. Other people have posted this exact same issue yet Samsung customer service was absolutely no help. All they care about is selling me a new device, but after these issues I am rethinking my choice of phone manufacturers.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply and if you think of anything else that might work please let me know. At this point I'm willing to try pretty much anything.
