Fine Lock is very good and trusty third-party app for years. If you want date in status bar it's best option. For your A16.

Even flagships must use Samsung's Good Lock modul for date in status bar

I would really like to see the date next to the time on the bar at the top of my Samsung a16 5G.

I don't know any of the en vogue vernacular.

At the top of my screen there's the time and my signal strength and my battery strength and I really want the date there too. I want it in every screenshot I make.

Think with all the notifications
There would be too much information at the top with the date as well
But you can go into the support section on the Members App and leave feedback there for development teams to see

Yes, it's possible with Good Lock modul QuickStar

But, I guess A16 isn't supported. You can use Fine Lock instead Good Lock if you want.

I don't know if it is the OS or the UI or the phone manufacturer that controls the top bar.

In the past I always found a solution to add the date in the phone settings or with a third party app.

I was frustrated by how most of the notification logging programs required root access and was very happy when that functionality was added to Android.

Unfortunately I stopped being able to use the third party apps to display whatever I wanted on that bar. There were caveats to it not being part of the OS. Lame cosmetic integration complications.

I've been using user interfaces for decades and a fundamental reason for the most frustration for me is when things that used to be simple become more difficult. I mean like the upgrades that make things not work anymore.

It's those forced upgrades, that are irreversible, those are the reason I am no longer in that profession.

It was taken away from me. It wasn't even a choice, I very much enjoyed using computers and phones to make art and music and play games. Unfortunately they would never solidify and despite being a power user for a portion of my life I just could not tame these beasts anymore and then eventually one simple thing like, not being able to see the date on the status bar, that's what severed my connection to the whole tech industry, it was the metaphorical last straw.
