A14 Facebook not working

Set up new phone using smartswitch but facebook not working. When I click on icon nothing happens - just goes back to home screen. I uninstall and reinstall then it let's me log in but as soon as I log off I can't get to login screen again. Have cleared cache. Any ideas please?

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Forum

When you use SmartSwitch sometimes the wrong version of the app comes across.

Go to Facebook app, press and hold down, select uninstall.

DO NOT CLICK INSTALL at this point.

Go to Google Play Store.
Search Facebook
Install

Does that fix your issue?

Hi thanks- have already done that but it didn't solve the problem. FB still working fine on my old A14. Only changed as old phone kept doing strange things but doesn't have a virus and has not been hacked

Hi @JiggyWiggy Welcome to the Samsung community Ensure All apps including Facebook up to Date

When you say yoy have cleared cache do you mean of the Facebook app or the cache partition. would go to Apps-Facebook-Force stop and clear cache and Data, may need to try reinstalling again. could also go to Device care and optimise in case an issue with Memory.

clear cache partition by following method:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer , other Device or TV USB, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.
