Hi Johnz237,

Thanks for the detailed info! I’ve heard about some overheating issues with the Galaxy A35. I’m wondering if your advice applies to the A35 specifically or the general A series. Do you have you personal experience with the A35?

Hi,

I'm considering buying a Galaxy A35 and want to know how well it handles screen recordings. Are there any limits on recording duration, file size, or overheating issues? Can you record for longer by reducing the resolution?

Hi! Welcome to the samsung members community!

Duration: While there is no strict time limit, long recordings may lead to overheating and potential crashes.

File Size: The maximum file size is typically around 4 GB. Once reached, the recording will stop.

Overheating: Prolonged screen recording can cause the phone to overheat significantly, impacting performance and potentially damaging the device.

Resolution: Reducing the recording resolution (e.g., from 1080p to 720p) can help mitigate overheating and reduce file size, allowing for longer recordings.

In terms of duration, I cannot give an exact time. Theoretically, lower quality equals longer recordings.

*High-resolution recordings can easily reach 4GB in 10-15 minutes.

Lower-resolution recordings could potentially last much longer, perhaps 30 minutes or more.

No. Sadly, I have no personal experience; my knowledge is based on general information. When people talk about overheating, they mean phones in general while recording—which I covered.

However, I do work in repair and support as part of my software engineering studies. In this role, I deal with returns and user issues. To me, the phones I have received/had questions about are equally represented, with no standout specifically for the A35.
