Help please - How to power off A51 which is locked

My son has changed his passcode for his phone and now cannot remember it. I am trying to power the phone off to do a hard reset but it is not allowing me to turn it off. I can get the phone to do a restart. The phone is an A51

I get the power off option but when I tap it, it just takes me back to the too many attempts screen

Is my only option to wait until the phone battery dies, charge it up and then do the factory reset?

Thank you. Unfortunately, not on smartthings, and the second one, I can't turn the phone off, so I can't do the required steps. Will leave it to run the battery down and go from there

@sarahut73: You could try signing in to Find My Mobile (https://findmymobile.samsung.com) using the Samsung account details that are registered to the A51, and remotely unlock the phone from here. For further details, please follow the link below, scroll down and click on 'Unlock my device'.

Unfortunately the find my mobile isnt an option as I have not been able to set one up as he is under 13
