HW-Q800B Alexa and Auto-off

Hello Community, I have recently bought the HW-Q800B soundbar and struggling figure out these two issues:

1. Alexa - I have set up the soundbar that it can be controlled via an Alexa device, but I want to use the soundbar itself as an Amazon Echo device (that wakes up and responds when called out "Alexa"). Is that possible? Based on my search, this is possible in some regions but not everywhere. I am in the Netherlands.

2. Auto-off - is it possible to switch off the auto-off power saving feature, so that the soundbar is always on?

Appreciate any help on these topics. Thank you.

Unfortunately, both options are not possible.

Hi @Dick thank you for the answer. That's unfortunate. Do you know from experience maybe, if any other Samsung soundbar model supports one or both of the above features? I still have a chance to return this one. Thanks!

Unfortunately I have to answer you negative again. You can only control your soundbar with Alexa. See also:

I had the same problem as you. Bought the hw- q800b and treedt to search for Alexa. Didn't find it. Though the samsung specs say that there is a BUILT-IN-ALEXA on the hw-q800b?!! Groetjes Ginus

Beste Dick dankjewel. Dan ligt het dus aan de Smartthings-app. Ik nam aan dat de app niet noodzakelijk was voor Alexa. De app doet het wel, maar loopt vast als ik de soundbar selecteer. Ik heb de soundbar en andere apparaten wel kunnen toevoegen aan de app. Groet Ginus

Opgelost is het nog niet nee, maar ik weet nu iig dat het de smartthingsapp is. Mijn apparaten zijn allemaal van samsung. Telefoon ook. Up to date. Ik heb de app al eens verwijderd en opnieuw geïnstalleerd. Telefoon herstart etc. De Smartthings app blijft laden als ik de soundbar in de app selecteer. Als ik wacht dan stopt hij met laden en gaat weer uit de instellingen vd soundbar. Ik kan het menuutje, wat jij toonde alleen zien, maar niet gebruiken. Groet

Duidelijk. Het enige wat ik nog kan verzinnen, is de soundbar resetten of staat hier nog iets tussen?
