I am exactly like you, one of the reasons I return / exchange so many electronics with displays, and even buy 2 or 3 of the same device to compare the display tint side by side, it drives me crazy, what I learned is to stop comparing, any device with a red/pink tinted display I return immediately, blue/green tint to the extent of not being independently noticeable I keep, and every once in a while, I come across a display that I love, then I keep for years....

Odyssey G50D QHD monitors – Different white balance / color tone on two identical monitors

Hi everyone,

I am using two Samsung Odyssey G50D QHD (LS27DG500EUXEN) monitors (both identical), bought a few days apart from a third-party retailer (not directly from Samsung).

I noticed a clear difference in image quality between them. The left monitor looks much whiter and cleaner, while the right one has a noticeable yellow/green tint. This is especially visible when displaying white content, for example Word documents, or when moving the same window from one screen to the other.

What I already tried:

Checked and compared all settings (they are identical)

Reset the monitor with the worse image to factory settings

Tested HDMI and DisplayPort

Tried a different DisplayPort cable

Updated firmware from M-D5000GGZA-1003.0 to M-D5000GGZA-1006.2

Downloaded a ICC-Profile

Unfortunately, the difference is still there.

This is not something I can really ignore when working with two monitors side by side. I would like to solve this without returning one or both monitors, if possible, as I am worried a replacement unit might show the same issue.

Is there anything else I can try (additional settings, calibration tips, known panel variance for this model)?

Thank you very much for any help.

Kind regards,

Nerd-on-fire

From the beginning, I noticed an issue with the display. When the device gets warm, a green tint appears around the area where the processor is located and where the device gets hottest. It is especially visible on dark grey screens, such as the Play Store in dark mode. You can see the problem in the picture above.
I already made a post about this issue in the forum a few weeks ago. I received feedback that this is definitely not normal and that I should contact Samsung for further support. That is exactly what I did. I explained the problem to a Samsung employee over the phone, and he also told me that this is not normal and that I should send the device in for repair.
Yesterday, the device came back, and even though a new display was installed, the issue still exists. So my question is whether anyone else who owns a Galaxy Tab S10+ has experienced something similar, or if you have any advice on what I should do next.

Whenever my phone is on a dark screen for example a gray screen (regardless of brightnes) it always has a light green pixelated tint that can only be seen on specifically gray screens. Is this a defect or just a common thing on this model? I also had a Google pixel 4a 5G that had the same issue and someone told me it was "Oled Rot" however that phone was brand new and shouldn't be doing that. Had the phone a couple years and always taken care of it.

Hello everybody, I recently bought a Galaxy Tab S10+ and noticed a strange display issue two days ago. Whenever my tablet gets warm such as when gaming or doing heavy multitasking a green tint appears around the area where the processor is located (the top middle/left part, as shown in the picture). However, it’s only really visible on a dark or grey screen and is more noticable at low brightness levels. I’m not sure whether this is normal for this device or for OLED screens in general. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or dealt with something like this before?

As i described in one of the other comments it started working but had a green tint. The weird part about this tint is that it only appeared for a while every time the screen was turned on, but then it would lessen or disappear until the screen was turned off.

I then changed the flex cable connecting the screen and motherboard, but that only fixed the fingerprint sensor that had apparently also stopped working. The tint still appeared.

I kept just using it for a half year. I found that having the phone out of power saving mode and having AOD turned on made the tint appear less often.

The tint slowly began lasting longer and i ended up buying a new phone.

Just wanted to let people know that this problem is still here with latest firmwares. I recently bought at S90D Samsung TV and am running it with a Geforce 5070Ti. I also get random 1-2sec black screen signal drops, and sometimes red/green-tint flickering that gets progressively worse until I "reset" the signal by toggling game mode.

I've tried new HDMI 2.1 certified cables and it didn't fix it. Gsync is off entirely, and the problem goes away if I turn off HDR. But what's the point of running a 1k+ TV monitor if I can't even run it at 4k 120hz HDR? I'm never touching Samsung TVs again after this.

I have a Samsung S21 ultra and over the past few days I have started to have a lot of problems with the display.
First of all, at low brightnesses the screen will tint with either green or pink, and on AOD the entire screen shows pink or green.

Sometimes, when the phone is locked, and I try to unlock it, the screen goes black and freezes up. I can feel the phone vibrating, but the only way to fix it is to lock the phone and wait for the AOD to come back, and then I can unlock the phone and use it.

At random times, about half of the screen will start flashing green and will stop after about 5 minutes.

These issues have appeared completely out of the blue and were not due to hardware damage as far as I know.

How can I fix these issues?

Hi, I've been using my new, sealed Galaxy S23+ for a month, which I bought on sale. It's an excellent phone, but I'm concerned about its screen, as I notice a yellowish (warm?) tint. Even the gray-black color looks somewhat greenish!

I have Eye Protector disabled. I use Vivid mode, and with the white balance set to center, the screen looks warm; that's why I set it to Cool 1, although the tone is still warm. I also adjusted the RGB values, lowering the Red and Green, but the yellow barely decreases.

I had this same problem on an S24, although I didn't expect to see it on this model. Interestingly, if I look at the screen head-on, the tint is visible; however, if I look at it from an angle, the tint disappears.

I thought it might be my screen protector, but I checked it and it's not the cause. The phone, as it is, has that tint. My other phones from other brands don't have this problem.

Any tips on how to fix this?

Yes, it's a new phone; this problem exists on OLED screens (similar to the green tint issue), but I think it will be fixed with a software update because this problem is more visible on 90Hz; I talked to a few people who have the same phone about this problem, and they also confirmed this problem.

I'm guessing this is similar to the green tint some previous devices use to have. Also this grain that can occur with some display panels. If you are still within the return period, you can send it back for a replacement. Although you may get the same problem. I returned a tab s7 plus which the screen was uniformed, replacement was perfect.

S25 Ultra Diaplay Colors Tint Driving me Nuts!

Hello friends!

I don't know how to even describe this but I will try,

The display colors or tint on my S25 Ultra is all over the place, sometimes white is pink, other times it's green or blueish, it keeps changing during the day, I don't exactly understand what's going on but I have some clues.

I have the Samsung official anti reflective film installed, I also wear optical eyeglasses with blue light filter, these two are interacting together in interesting ways.

When I look at the phone straight on center, all white is pink, if I look at a 45 degrees angle, it becomes pure white, this is one factor.

The other factor is time of the day, at night white turns green, in the afternoon it's more pinkish, in sunlight it's very pink.

Also when I take my sunglasses off it becomes blueish, so type of ambient light is the second factor.

Then it also seem to depend on application, due to the feature Samsung introduced since the S23 Ultra, which changes the color tone based on content, in Chrome it's really pink, in Amazon app pink is less, and in McDonald's app white is white, that is the 3rd factor.

All these factors intetplaying together makes the screen color tone all over the place during the day, from super pink in the morning to green in the evening and everything in between.

This is more pronounced in the unit I currently have which was produced in February in the Vietnam factory, I had one before it, which was produced in January in the India factory, which I remember white was pure and clear white.

Does any of you have this strange phenomena? I am thinking to put a regulator reflective tempered glass, to kill that anti reflective property which seems to be playing a lot of games with ambient light and my eyeglasses, what do you think? 😵‍💫😵‍💫

just got the s24 ultra and i wanted to love it but the screen is terrible with a green tint

i waited a long time to get the s24 ultra as it is the only design of a phone i truly love nothing compares apart from older sony xperia z's i couldn't get the s25 ultra was the design was destroyed, when i got the s24 ultra i was extremely disappointed by the color it's not black it's almost silver bronze, but the worst disappointment was the screen

i have compared my s24 ultra to many screens that i own, my a23 which is a budget samsung phone not even oled but still has great colors in comparison, the s24 ultra has a green tint, gray has a green tint, and compared to my samsung s95d qd oled tv, white is faded and overall colors are faded.

i experienced this nightmare with the note 10 where samsung claimed there was no issues, so i don't expect anything better with the s24 ultra, as samsung seems to not care about color issues on their screens especially if you are someone like me who really wants vibrant and cold colors

i have attached a picture comparing the gray on my a23 to my s24 ultra

do note i prefer my screens very cold and my s24 ultra is set to green and red to 0 while blue is set to max with max brightness adaptive off and vibrancy is set to max, the fold 6 had an amazing screen i had no complaints, my surface pro is also much better in colors gray here is white where it's darker on my a23nearly blonze compared to my surface pro NOT BLACKwhite is much moire faded so are colors

Oh, forgot to say, my wife's A55 also has a green-ish yellow-ish tint, but hers at least is a bit brighter, so the effect is not so pronounced...

The worst part is Samsung used to do it right. My Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (on Natural mode) looks exactly like your Oneplus 11, and also very similar to a MacBook Air (Apple displays are generally very color accurate).

My S25 Ultra looks exactly like yours on Natural. A terrible green-ish yellow tint over what's supposed to be displaying. 10% grays don't even look gray, they look green. Twitter's dim theme isn't dark blue, it's a brighter blue-ish green.

I found that I could get it close to normal by putting it to Vivid and dragging the slider to full cool, but then the colors become oversaturated, even on the least vivid setting.

At the end of the day, I settled for Natural because I couldn't stand the oversaturated colors, and would rather have the terrible yellowness.

Great phone, unfortunately mine was one that had the terrible green tint to the display. Only reason I really upgraded to the S21 Ultra. It was also my second device as I returned the first one back to Samsung. I didn't really want to return another one again. So kept it.

Hello community,

I have the Z Flip 6 and i don't know why there is such a huge difference in the tint of the pictures between my gallery (where the colors are good compared to my computer) and the preview on the OneDrive application (photo #2) and when I want to upload it to print on a website (photo #1 ).

I have spent hours looking everywhere and nothing. My gf who has the Z flip 6 also same trouble, and my sister S24 same thing.

Please 🙏
